BAERTLING, Olle

1911 - 1981; Swedish painter, print maker, sculptor; after initial interest in the Expressionist style he turned to geometric abstraction; influenced by Mondrian, his work became dominated by simplified diagonal wedge shapes in hard reds, blacks and yellows which made for considerable dynamic impact; his work was exhibited in Scandinavia, Paris and New York.
