Derrière le Miroir was published by Maeght, Paris between 1946 and 1981. A quarterly publication, usually in unbound form, it contained art reviews and biographies, poetry and original lithographic works by contemporary artists. These works were specially commissioned for Derrière le Miroir and did not appear in any other form. Unsigned, they were intended to provide a mode for art lovers to buy works by leading artists of the day at accessible prices.
